NOTES:  As with my Gorillaz recording, I got greedy and tried to catch Yann Tiersen's set (excellent BTW) before jamming over the to the Outdoor Theatre to see if I could make Thom Yorke's much anticipated set.  I knew I was screwed when I saw the enormous crowd gathered more packed than I have seen it in 7 years worth of Coachella's for this stage.  Taped from directly behind the soundboard on the rail, it suffers from pretty bad wind noise.

First off, this is not my best recording ever, but as there’s no others of it yet on dime yet I thought I’d share. There’s a bit of plastic glass hitting floor and one point where I moved at the end of Weird Fishes because of talking idiots and it’s recorded from my coat on the floor at the back of the venue with the mic strategically placed, because my usual stealth bag trick got foiled by security. It isn’t as bad as that sounds. It’s recorded using a Sharp minidisc in LP2 and a Sony microphone, then transferred to a Phillips CDR audio recorder and then converted to FLAC via EAC and FLAC Frontend via trackmarking in CD Wave Editor.

Do what you want with this as I’m sure there will be clearer recordings circulating soon.

so you can expect some loud audience noises to start songs out if you are skipping around.
I wasn't going to paste the whole show back together again, just to re-split it and
unfortunately by the time we got in contact, he had already made the splits. 

Regardless, he should be definitely be thanked for his efforts in both taping and sharing publicly
what is ultimately the 1st complete, lossless source of this show to surface.

This is a 24bit / 48KHZ recording.  My actual seat for this show was 4th row center, but the sound wasn't great there.  After Watching the opening band, I decided to try and move for Radiohead.  I moved to the back of Pool Circle, on the right side.  I was right in line with the main pa, about 9 rows from the stage.  Bass rolloff was on (on the battery box).

Note:
This is a 24bit / 48KHZ recording.  The band stops during Street Spirit, when Thom realizes that he is playing the wrong song.  Reckoner should have been played before Street Spirit.  When he started playing Street Spirit, Ed had to put down the tambourine, and change guitars.  When Thom stops, Ed assumes they are going to switch to Reckoner. Editing Notes - This source was a sync of 2 audience sources from different locations. Due to
                          venue acoustics and natural delays, a perfect sync was near impossible. Add
                          to that, the mics weren't on a stand, so phasing issues are present and very
audible at times(such as National Anthem) whenever the taper moved their
                          head, body, etc..

NOTES:
I'll start by saying that the band performances utterly saved this festival; I saw some great music which is why I was there.  Other than that, the All Points West festival (the second day, at least) completely sucked.  Don't have nearly enough room here to dwell on the issues.  Unrelated to the failings of APW (but one of my gripes), I did just barely get my recording gear in, literally, by a pube.  The security guy patting me down on the way in got a little, ahem, how do I say this...  'overzealous' while fondling the items in my front pockets, narrowly missed my gear and grabbed my balls.  No joke.  A shout in his face brought him back to reality and he sent me on my way.  Whew!  Usually they buy me dinner and drinks first...

As for Radiohead's show, the weather was perfect, the night was beautiful and the band brought their A-game and killed.  Add to that a VERY cool stage setup with lights and video screens and it made for a great performance.  Was very happy to hear "The Bends" and especially "Planet Telex".  Personally, I hadn't heard them play either song live in a long time and I'm a huge fan of the older stuff.  Great crowd: enthusiastic and there for a good time.  For the most part, people weren't too chatty until the encores and then the sing-alongs began, so the recording came out fairly clean.  Thank goodness for cardioids and location!  My levels were a touch hot, so between the bass-bombs, handclaps and occasional gusts of wind the recording clips a few times (not too badly, IMO).  Awesome show, hope you enjoy what you hear as much as I did.

Big props to T.O. for getting the tickets and driving.  And to the security guy who frisked me: next time, squeeze your OWN nuts.

- Fireworks audible in a number of places (particularly in Fake Plastic Trees and most of Encore 1) as the
Montreal International Fireworks Competition was having its finale at the same time.

- Some stereo phasing at times due to having to move to let people by me in either direction or make way
for passing-out lightweights (at least 5 times!) who needed to be escorted to the soundboard area to get out.
Probably only really noticeable on headphones.

Radiohead put on a great show and the whole lighted icicle stage set up they have is really cool to see live.  The show turned out pretty good.  There is some chatter during the softer songs...I'm not sure why anyone would pay that much money just to talk thru the whole show, but hey, it's a free country I guess.  Also, there were fireworks going off just south of the park starting at the end of The Bends thru Fake Plastic Trees.  Even though it wasn't part of Lolla, it looked really cool with Radiohead playing and fireworks going off in the sky above the stage.

Notes:
Positioned to the left of the stage in the covered seating area, except during
Lucky when i was near the mixer.

Although it's not a brilliant recording it does have only minimal audience chatter.
One thing i would point out is that after Idioteque i started to leave and so i
ended up catching Lucky from a different area and you can hear a little more chat
during this last track.

Under Torrent  #214895. Comments suggested that it was unlistenable due to interference. It was suggested to go through the recording and correct interference using the tools in Adobe Audition 3.0. I have done this and corrected as best I can each piece of mobile / cell phone and static  interference as best I can either using Auto Heal, high pass filters or automatic click remover. If it was a loop (drum beat in Reckoner or 15 Step) then I patched it from an unaffected piece of the recording. Where the interference was too bad then I took the affected source out and changed levels as best as I could (only did this 2 or 3 times I think). I then remixed it again. I think I will announce my retirement from doing these sorts of recordings now. It is way too much like hard work and there has to be something better to do with life! Besides my flat was broken in to the other week and my receiver stolen. I think somebody somewhere is trying to tell me something.

Beaucoup de fouille ce soir l‡. Le mec de la sÈcu fouillait partout dans les
sacs, tout partait en consigne. Les parapluies, etc. ArrivÈ mon tour, il ne
trouve pas les micros planquÈs dans une poche de mon K-Way. Ouf. L'edirol est
trouvÈ dans le sac ! 1Ëre fois depuis 2 ans qu'on me trouve le matos !
Il hÈsite ‡ le mettre en consigne. Il trouve ensuite le DR2. Me demandant ce
que c'est, je lui rÈponds que c'est mon baladeur. Du coup, tout est parti ‡ la
consigne... Alors comment j'ai fait pour enregistrÈ ?
Bah imaginez vous ‡ la consigne ce soir l‡, le mec qui fouille vous fait tout
mettre en consigne... et donc vous bossez comme un cinglÈ. A mon tour, le responsable
 en a eu ras le bol... et m'a tout rendu. Merci beaucoup !

J'ai eu l'impression que Áa saturait.
Pendant la chanson Airbag, j'ai baissÈ de 30/30 ‡ 26/30.
Áa s'entendait avant la retouche.

Firstly, apologies for the ignorance with the setlist. I am not a Radiohead fan at all. They just never did it for me. However I DO appreciate how important they are to modern day music and even though I knew only two tracks it still was a very good show. I did get in late however so how much of the start of the show I have missed I am not sure. It is an outdoor show and there is some wind noise in parts.

MISC NOTES:
Absolutely great show on the worst day to be at the worst venue in the DC area.  there was about 2 inches of rainfall during the performance (luckily I was safe under the pavilion) and the temperature was down in the 40's with gusts of wind (which unfortunatly make it on to the recording at times).  Me and the friend I went with ended up completely soaking wet just by walking to the pavilion from the parking lot through the pouring rain.  We wore trashbags with head holes torn out of the bottom to help cut the wind.  All but one road in to the venue was closed due to flooding and it got so bad that police were turning away the late-arriving concert go'ers!  This is among the first times I'd taped at Nissan Pavilion, it's a great sounding place, but aside from it's sound, it adds absolutely nothing to the concert experiance (and in fact takes away from it in many ways).  Great show though, the band was incredable.  Aside from a couple of errors at the begining of "Faust Arp", they sounded absolutely perfect. Thom's voice is amazing and the lights they had on stage were marvelous.  All in all it was worth it, I hope you enjoy the show in the dry warmth of where ever you are listening to it!
